31 TEACHERS TO LEAVE AHEAD OF 2021/2022 SCHOOL YEAR, EDUCATION MINISTER SAYS HE PLANS TO RESTART TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAMME AT HLSCC

Education Minister Dr. Nathalio Wheatley has told the House of Assembly, the Ministry of Education plans to restart the Teacher Education Programme at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College to deal with the various vacancies they now have. That response from Minister Wheatley following a question from Second District Melvin Mitch Turnbull.

Turnbull asked the Minister to give a detailed report of how many teachers and principals, teachers and staff have left or will leave the service at the end of this school year 2020/2021. The Education Minister said that 31 teachers are leaving and there 47 vacancies to be filled. He was further asked if adequate funding is in the budget to fill those positions.
