VECTOR CONTROL SUPERVISOR WANTS HOMEOWNERS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY TO RID THEIR PROPERTY OF MOSQUITOES

Vector Control Supervisor at the Environmental Health Department Joseph Sealey believes homeowners must do what is necessary to rid mosquitoes from their premises.
Mosquitos such as the Aedes Egypti which is common in the territory carry vector borne diseases such as dengue fever.
Sealey said as this is the peak of the 2021 Atlantic Hurricane Season, he believes the responsibility rests with the homeowners and not the only the department.
He was at the time discussing environmental impact of hurricanes during the Government’s Health Bytes Programme.
