SECOND DISTRICT REP SAYS MAINTENANCE AT SCHOOLS IS A MAJOR ISSUE

The Representative for the Second District Melvin Mitch Turnbull believes a complete overhaul needs to be done of the education system, and prioritize maintenance issues at schools.

Speaking under Other Business in the House of Assembly, Turnbull said there are challenges, some things are overlooked and even though they are addressed it is not done holistically.

Turnbull said attention should be paid to schools in the various districts, and maintenance is a key issue. It was reported earlier this week that the Francis Lettsome Primary School in East End/Long Look was not re-opened because of mold issues.
