OPPOSITION LEADER MARLON PENN QUESTIONS WHETHER THE PREMIER IS TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT AN MOU SIGNED OR NOT WITH THE CRUISE COMPANIES TO RETURN

Written by on September 8, 2021

Leader of the Opposition Marlon Penn says someone is not telling the truth as to whether the government and the Cruise Industry recently signed an MOU as cruise ships prepare to return to the BVI.

The question was recently put to Premier and Minister of Tourism Andrew Fahie at a Press conference, and he denied signing any MOU describing it as a rumour and the most ludicrous thing he has heard in his life.

The Tourism Minister said he did not sign any MOU with cruise officials and it was a personal trip he made to Miami to attend his daughter’s graduation and he took it upon himself to let the cruise industry know that the BVI is still open to cruise tourism.

Fahie says there’s no cruise official in Miami who can say that he signed a MOU with them because it was just casual talks. However, Penn said he does not believe the Premier’s explanation.
