WORK PERMIT EXEMPTION NOW TIED TO THE DURATION OF A MARRIAGE

Labour and Immigration Minister Vincent Wheatley has been further explaining the revised categories of Work Permit Exemption.

Last month Cabinet agreed to new categories for exemption.

It is no longer based on years spent in the territory. These categories are Exemption by Marriage; Exemption by Education; and Exemption by Minister’s Discretion.

Minister Wheatley said that persons applying within the category of Marriage can make an application immediately following marriage to a BVIslander or Belonger;
