Woman Facing Unlicensed Firearm Charge

A 33- year old female is now facing a charge of carrying an unlicensed firearm following a routine traffic stop on Friday, June 12th.
Police say that Akiya Brewley of Nottingham Estate was arrested and charged with Carrying an Unlicensed Firearm and Failure to Stop at the Stop Light. She was granted bail in the amount of $30,000 with two sureties to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on July 28, 2020.
In an unrelated incident, On Saturday, June 13, officers of the RVIPF arrested and charged one male after a routine patrol uncovered a quantity of illegal substances.
Devon Dawson, 48 of Pleasant Valley was charged with 6 counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Drug, 6 counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Drug with Intent to Supply to Another and Cultivation of Cannabis.
He remains in Police Custody pending his appearance in the Magistrate’s Court.
