VG Easter festival is back!
Written by Fuze Team on April 21, 2019
The Virgin Gorda Festival was officially declared opened with an opening ceremony being held in the Village last night. This year’s theme is dubbed ‘A cultural jamboree in musical city’ while the slogan is ‘Culture, rhythm and rave like never seen for Virgin Gorda Festval 2019’.
The festival was named after Mr. Roy O’Neal, of Virgin Gorda. Mr. O’Neal was first approached in 2018, however he was disappointed when he learned that there would be no village as the festival was scaled down due to the devastating effects caused by the hurricanes in September 2017. He has been a participant in the festival for over 50+ years. He was popularly known to be seen in the festival parade on his bicycle, ‘Queen Mary’, which would be decorated differently each year.
Some of the entertainment from last night included Hardcore Band, OMG Live, Monea and Dexter Dapps.
