It was the second day of protest action by teachers on Thursday, but this time Teachers and the Senior Division of the Elmore Stoutt High School.
On Wednesday teachers at the Junior Division at ESHS staged a sick-out.
At the crux of the matter, teachers say they need to be taken as priority and the conditions they are facing span many years.
The BVI Teachers Union in a facebook post said that the Executive stands with the teachers of the territory.
The Union said that the teachers are tired and frustrated, their cries though acknowledged, seem to be falling on deaf ears.
According to the union, the teachers of the Virgin Islands have always gone above and beyond for their students; many times sacrificing themselves and the conditions of their schools and the treatment of their teachers must be a priority and not a reaction.
It said they are guided by the declaration, their working conditions and environments are the students’ learning conditions and environment.” The Education Minister Dr. Nathalio Wheatley said he was not aware of why the teachers took this action.
