Some FLOW BVI workers took silent protest action on Wednesday because of a Vaccine mandate.
Some six workers who are unvaccinated were seen on the premises at the entrance to the Palestina Offices.
A release issued by the company says since the outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemic, C&W Communications, parent company BTC, C&W Networks and Flow, have implemented rigorous health and safety measures to help protect employees, their families and customers.
It says in the BVI, the vaccine mandate and return to work framework took effect on Wednesday December 1st, where only fully vaccinated employees will be allowed into office facilities.
Country Manager for FLOW BVI – Ravi Maywahlall, said its very unfortunate that this situation with the workers has to develop.
Maywahlall says currently 85 percent of the company’s staff are partially and fully vaccinated and the company felt that it’s necessary at this time, to have all its workers vaccinated, which will improve comradery at the workplace having everyone in the same space.
And one of the workers affected by the FLOW policy is a worker who has been with the company for more than 25 years. He said FLOW made it clear to its workers that the vaccine will not be made mandatory as they believe this is a personal choice and so the company has gone back on its word.
