Public Service week is being celebrated for the entire week under the theme “One Public Service – transforming together”. On Monday October 8th, 2018, many gathered at the Central Admin building where they participated in a Prayers and Recognition Ceremony for Public Officers.
Some 156 public officers were recognised for their service to the local government for reaching a milestone of either 10, 25 and 35 years. Due to hurricane’s Irma and Maria, Public Service week could not have been celebrated last year.
Throughout the course of the week you can expect to see a full range of activities to promote unity and strength of the Virgin Islands public service team. Tuesday 9th, October they participated in a clean-up campaign which started at the Botanical Gardens in Road Town. Today, Wednesday 10 October 2018, public officers were dressed in their “Whacky Wednesday” attire.
