A student at the BVI Seventh Day Adventist School has tested positive for Covid-19.
Let’s Fuze VI understands that as a result, the school has resorted to online learning until further notice.
The school said its protocol measures have been activated in consultation with the Public Health Authorities.
The Public Health Unit of the Ministry of Health and Social Development advised all Grade 11 students of the BVI Seventh Day Adventist Secondary School to self-isolate and abide by home quarantine guidelines.
Self-isolation means that students should remain at home avoiding all social gatherings, churches, parties, supermarkets and follow all COVID-19 protocols and await further advice. Parents of students identified as close contacts by contact tracing and who may require formal quarantine will receive such orders for them and their households to be quarantined. The Public Health Unit said it will be in communication with close contacts to schedule testing.
