Premier and Minister of Finance Andrew Fahie indicated in the House of Assembly on Thursday to bring a motion to exempt the Speaker of the House of Assembly Julian Willock, from paying legal fees to which he was ordered to do so by the courts.
The announcement by the Premier to debate the motion to exempt the Speaker came as he outlined a number of changes to the Order paper in the continuation of the 12th Sitting of the 3rd Session of the 4th House of Assembly.
Willock and his lawyers had filed an injunction in the court to stop the Commission of Inquiry’s lawyers from practicing until they were called to the local bar. After not getting the support of the Attorney General, Willock withdrew the injunction but was told by the court to pay legal fees of more than 121 thousand dollars for the defendants.
