POLICE ASK MARINERS TO KEEP AN EYE FOR MISSING SNORKELER ALTHOUGH ACTIVE SEARCH ENDS

The RVIPF’s Marine Unit says the active search for a missing male visitor who reportedly went snorkeling in the waters off Cooper Island on Monday, October 25, ended last Sunday, however Mariners are being asked to still keep an eye out.

Dennis Yuki Enomoto, 75, of Canada was amongst a group of persons that was snorkeling near Cooper Island.

Police say he was last seen while the group was in the water, but when the others returned to the boat, Enomoto had not returned.

A search of the boat, surrounding waters, nearby vessels and on Cooper Island itself turned up nothing.

Police and VISAR expanded searches to include the Sir Francis Drake Channel and many shorelines but to date he has not been found.

The RVIPF Marine Unit said it will continue to be vigilant while on patrols and is also asking all mariners to keep an eye out while on thewater in an effort to locate the missing snorkeler.

Police said his family has since been informed and is being kept updated by the RVIPF.
