Online work permit system to be launched today

The online work permit system that will enhance the way that work permits are processed will be launched virtually at 2:00 p.m today.
Employers, employees and all respective public servants that are normally involved in the work permit processing system will now have a platform that will streamline the process as well as reduce in person contact, which is essential in the midst of a global pandemic. The Department of Labour and Workforce Development says that employers and employees will be able to track the progress of applications on the new platform, which will also notify users if they are missing any supporting documentation that would be needed to move their application forward.It said that additionally, a user manual for employers and employees is provided so that potential users of the Online Work Permit System can familiarise themselves with the material.
The new Work Permit Online Application Project is said to be one aspect of the overall transformation of the Public Service initiative.
