IMMIGRATION AND POLICE SEEK HELP IN LOCATING HAITIAN DETAINEE WHO ESCAPED CUSTODY

A search is underway for a Haitian National who escaped detention.
In a GIS news release it said that Sem Duverval of Haiti escaped detention between the late hours of Saturday, October 23 and early Sunday, October 24.
The Chief Immigration Officer, Mr. Ian Penn explained that four immigrants who were detained by his Department, escaped from detention at Castle Maria Hotel.
Penn said that three of these individuals were since apprehended and put back into detention, however Duverval remains at large.
According to Mr. Penn, the matter was immediately reported to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) and the necessary location searches are ongoing. If anyone has information on the whereabouts of Mr. Duverval please contact the Immigration Department or the RVIPF’s hotline at 311.
