Virgin Islands athlete, Mr. Eldred Henry has gone down in history where he holds the National Shot-Put Record. Standing at 6’5”, Henry broke the 5-year-old NCAA Division II record with a performance score of 20.61 metres. He currently attends the University of Findlay in Ohio, United States.
Henry’s interest in Shot-Put sparked in his junior year at the Elmore Stoutt High School where he was encouraged to join track and field while on a simple but impactful ride home. He gave it some thought and decided that he wanted to try it out because he wanted to do something that he would be remembered by.
Over the years, he has competed both locally and internationally. He has been to the 2016 London Olympics and will be heading to Tokyo for the 2020 Olympics.
