GOVERNMENT SIGNS $1.1M CONTRACT WITH AUTLAND HEAVY EQUIPMENT FOR LONG TRENCH ROAD REHABILITATION AND SLOPE STABILIZATION

Government on Tuesday signed a contract with Autland Heavy Equipment Company Ltd for the Long Trench Road Rehabilitation and Slope Stabilization Project.
The Recovery and Development Agency, RDA said the contact was awarded to Autland based on best value for money at a cost of more than $1.1 M.
The project will include, general site clearance and disposal, demolition of reinforced concrete pavement, kerb walls, retaining walls and guard rails.
The RDA said the procurements of these works were done in accordance with the Caribbean Development Bank, CDB’s procurement policies using the selection method of national competitive bidding.
Acting CEO of the RDA Anthony Mc Master said it is always pleasing to know they can fulfil the mandate that has been given to them by Government with rebuilding of the territory following the damage caused by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017.
Mc Master said that the RDA at present has $25.5m worth of projects under implementation or have been implemented.
And Dawn Crabbe Herbert of Autland, said they are grateful to be part of the restoration efforts in the territory.
