FRANCIS LETTSOME PRIMARY SCHOOL NOT OPENED BECAUSE OF MOLD, NO WORD FROM THE EDUCATION MINISTER

As students returned to the classrooms for face to face learning on Monday this week, those at the Francis Lettsome Primary School in East End were not as fortunate.
Representative for the Eight District – Marlon Penn says he was informed by a parent that the school was not opened because of maintenance issues.
Penn says pictures were shared with him and the school has a serious issue with mould, infrastructure and a lot of its furnishings were thrown away. The Eighth District representative questioned why the problems at the school were not addressed before the scheduled re-opening and why the principal only became aware of the conditions at the school when she arrived there.
Penn says the lack of preparation to have the Francis Lettsome Primary School opened in time for school for classes on Monday is just another clear indication that the government has no plan.
There has been no word from the Education Minister Dr. Nathalio Wheatley on the situation.
