FORMER WORKS MINISTER NOT IN AGREEMENT WITH TRAFFIC TURNAROUND

A former Minister of works does agree with some aspects of the traffic turnaround in Road Town.

Last year June, the traffic turnaround took effect.

The Works Minister Kye Rymer said at the time said he is happy that the new traffic flow has been successful as it falls within this Government’s mantra to “Create a Pedestrian Friendly City” and to lift the quality of life for their citizens, residents and visitors.”

However, speaking during a sitting of the House of Assembly last week, Opposition Member, Fourth District Representative and Former Works Minister under the NDP administration Mark Vanterpool said he is not in favor of the traffic turning downwards main street and according to him Road Town is no longer pedestrian friendly.

But in response to Vanterpool’s comments, Minister Rymer while he agrees there will be criticisms and some things need addressing, the traffic flow has been efficient
