Officials in the Financial Services Industry are cautioning persons about getting into Ponzi and pyramid scheme.
There has been an upsurge within recent times of these schemes.
On Sunday Money Matters BVI hosted a forum on facebook, with officials from the Financial Investigating Agency, FIA, Financial Services Commission, FSC, BVI Finance, and the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force.
These schemes are sometimes presented as investment opportunity.
CEO of BVI Finance Elise Donovan says that the public is susceptible to these types of structures.
An official from the FIA, Dwayne Thomas said that the persons who are putting their monies into these types of schemes, it is overly risky.
