EVERYONE ON JOST VAN DYKE TO BE TESTED AND BORDER PATROL STEPPED UP

Governor Augustus Jaspert in a statement said that Cabinet has introduced this curfew in Jost Van Dyke as a precaution to protect public health, under the powers available to the Minister of Health.
Governor Jaspert made it clear that they don’t believe there is a widespread outbreak on Jost Van Dyke or within the Territory.
He said what they know is that one resident from the island tested positive after leaving BVI. The Health Services Authority have already conducted contract tracing and have isolated at risk individuals.
Over the next seven days, the Ministry of Health and BVI Health Services Authority will be conducting further contract tracing and community testing.

He said they hope to test every individual who lives in Jost Van Dyke and while acknowledging that the curfew has come without notice and individuals living in Jost Van Dyke may not have had a chance to stock up on supplies, Government will be providing food and other essential supplies throughout the curfew.
