Premier Andrew Fahie has announced that Cabinet has endorsed the re-opening of day care centres, preschools and summer programmes.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Premier said this is subject to the inspection and approval by the Environmental Health Division and in alignment with the Education and Public Health guidelines for their safe operation.
In that same statement, Premier Fahie said they are seeing an increase in scooter accidents and riders are not wearing safety gears and riding safely on the road. The Premier is urging scooter riders to practice safety on the Territory’s roads.
Premier Fahie also reminded persons that Phase two of the Economic Response is on-going and he is urging persons to apply for the different packages and reach out to the district representative and Territorial At-Large Member for economic assistance.
He said they are currently faced with the reality that there is no cure or vaccine in the world at this time to prevent thousands and thousands from dying from the corona virus and this means that as a Government, working with public service agencies, they will continue to do all that they can to protect the people.
The Premier is asking the private sector to continue to do its part, and they are asking the people to continue to join them in protecting everyone.
