CURFEW REVISED: 24 HOUR LOCK DOWN IN EFFECT FROM 4th APRIL

Premier Fahie tonight announced that a new curfew order will be in effect. The BVI will undergo another 24 hour lock down until 16th April with the exception of Thursday 2nd April to Saturday 4th April. During these three days residents will have the opportunity to utilise essential services under a strict and managed system during the hours of 8:00AM-6:00PM. Essential services such as banking, grocery shopping, gas refills etc.

  • Thursday 2nd April, residents with surnames beginning with A-I.
  • Friday 3rd April, residents with surnames beginning with J-R.
  • Saturday 4th April, residents with surnames beginning with S-Z.

Residents are being asked to walk with ID when accessing essential services as they will be checked and only persons authorised to be out on the said days will receive service.

Premier Fahie also assured residents that persons who are under quarantine will not be allowed to utilise these services. Provisions will be in place however so that these persons can meet their needs during the 14 day lock down period.

In addition, Premier Fahie announced that the Government has partnered with the Family Support Network and persons who are not in a position to shop for 14 days are encouraged to reach out to the FSN on 499-0999 or 542-2085 for assistance.

Governor Jaspert advised that there should be no visiting of friends, family or any recreational activities taking place during the three days where essential services should be done. Those persons found in violation of the Curfew Order will be penalised accordingly.
