Croal for the Gold! BVI Athletes shine at 2019 CARIFTA Games

British Virgin Islands athletes shined this weekend by capturing seven medals at the 2019 CARIFTA Games in the Cayman Islands.
Jaleel Croal was at the top of the list of athletes that participated as he won the only Gold medal for the territory in the under 17 male 200 metre finals with a time of 21.43 seconds. Croal also finished third place is the under 17 male 100 metre finals with a time of 10.80 seconds.
The other local medallists include Djimon Gumbs who placed third in the under 20 male Discuss with a throw of 54.76 metres.
Beyonce Defreitas also finished third in the under 20 female 200 metre race with a speed of 23.79 seconds. Khybah Dawson had a distance of 6.83 metres in the under 17 male Long Jump, Akris Eristee captured a silver medal in the under 17 female 400 metre race with a time of 54.10 seconds.
Lastly, we have the relay races where Eristee, Kaelyaah Liburd, Ariyah Smith and Jahtivya Williams claimed the silver medal in the 4x400m female relay with a speed of 3:44.89 seconds.
The team ended the Games with one gold, three silvers and three bronze medals.
