Anegadians are suffering unable to get their deeds to their lands they have occupied for decades.
This was the message from the chairman of the Anegada Lands Advisory Committee – Daryl Ruin when he appeared as a guest on Cindy Rosan’s ‘Cut Deep’ programme.
The programme heard for the first time on ZBVI Radio, discussed the distribution of lands on Anegada.
Ruin says for decades Anegadians have been waiting for their deeds and all they have been receiving is just promises.
He claims that deeds have been given out to persons abroad who do not currently occupy these lands.
Ruin says some persons in Anegada received their deeds to their lands since the current Natural Resources Minister Vincent Wheatley is in office.
But he says these deeds were processed from prior administrations.
Natural Resources Minister Vincent Wheatley who called into the programme, says they had started a series of public meetings on the various islands on the lands distribution issue but it was halted due to Covid and the Commission of Inquiry.
