Brent’s online ‘Praise Party’ Uplifts and Inspires
Written by Fuze Team on April 2, 2020
On Tuesday 31st March 2020, The Fuze had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Brent Hoyte of Brent Hoyte Live Arrangements. Brent is a young and gifted Christian musician who has been doing a great thing during these trying times. For the past two Sunday’s, Brent has connected with persons all over the world via Facebook by having his online ‘Praise Parties’. This usually follows an online church service by Pastors Wayne and Joycelyn Hoyte of First Assembly of God, who are also his parents.
When asked what inspired him to stream the praise party Brent said, “To be honest, we’re all artists. So if you can’t express yourself or you can’t make somebody connect, sometimes you just want to make people feel good about themselves, encourage and motivate people. That’s what an artist does. And for me, this just amplifies the urge to actually do something that is even more positive and different out there because going through this whole crisis now, it gets very depressing very easily. It gets very depressing for everybody in an instant second. So instead of just watching the news and all of these cases, I thought it was just best to uplift everybody and let them know that Christ is still there for you and let go of the negative, only focus on the positive for right now.”
Connecting the younger and elder generation, Brent has been able to bring persons together with his slightly different Gospel music, collaborating different genres of music fuzed with a splash of Virgin Islands Rhythm and Bass.
He also went on to say that, “what I’m planning to do right now, I would probably say every other or every Sunday for now. The response from the public has been tremendous. Everybody has been hitting me up saying they can’t wait for the next one.”
“Sometimes it even kills my flesh in terms of like you know Brent, this isn’t about you, It’s about somebody getting that close relationship that you have now.”
Brent uses this live stream to pray and uplift persons, giving them that closer relationship with God in the midst of this crisis.
Brent has a strong musical upbringing as his parents are both musicians and his older sister, Gabrielle Denae is also an award winning Gospel Singer. Brent encouraged persons to take some time out during this time of confinement, to know yourselves, find out your traits, find the things you like to do being in this space by yourself. Build on your craft.
