BISHOP JOHN CLINE SAYS THE BVI SEEMS TO BE BOUND TO ITS COLONIAL PAST BUT THIS MUST CHANGE

As the Virgin Islands Communal Association VICA hosted the re-enactment of the 1949 march on Sunday, featured Speaker Bishop John Cline said it is time the Virgin Islands seek independence from the UK.

Addressing Sunday’s reenactment march which ended at the Sir Olva Georges Plaza, Bishop John Cline said that back then it was not a government organized march, it was a march by the people, with courage and to establish BVI identity.

Bishop Cline said they marched to gain access to Governance of the territory.

And 72 years later, Bishop Cline asked, what progress have they made from freeing themselves from under the hand of their colonial masters.
